Springhouse

Terms of Use

Springhouse Technologies, Inc.
Effective date: October 14, 2026

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Springhouse app, our text messaging service, and springhouse.co (together, the "Service"), provided by Springhouse Technologies, Inc. ("Springhouse", "we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who may use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use it only with permission from a parent or guardian. The Service is not intended for children under 13.

Your account

You agree to give accurate information, keep your account details current, and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put the Service or other users at risk.

Households

If you create or join a household, the kitchen items, lists, plans, and recipes you add to it are shared with its members. Only invite people you want to share with. A household member can leave at any time.

Food, health, and AI

Springhouse is a cooking and kitchen tool, not a source of medical, nutritional, or allergy advice.

  • Springhouse combines its own food database (ingredients, products, substitutions, nutrition, and shelf life) with artificial intelligence that interprets your requests and applies that knowledge to your kitchen. Even so, recipes, suggestions, nutrition information, freshness estimates, and answers from the Springhouse assistant may be incomplete or wrong.
  • Always read ingredient labels and packaging, especially if you or anyone you cook for has an allergy or dietary restriction. Do not rely on the Service to identify allergens.
  • Follow safe food handling, storage, and cooking practices. "Use by" and freshness estimates in the Service are guides, not guarantees that food is safe to eat.
  • Talk to a qualified professional for medical or dietary advice.

You are responsible for the food you prepare and eat.

Text messages

If you sign up for text messages, you agree to receive messages from Springhouse at the number you provide, including sign-in codes and messages from the Springhouse assistant. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Connected services and retailers

The Service lets you connect other services, such as Google Calendar, and shop your grocery list at retailers such as Walmart. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their products, prices, availability, or orders you place with them. You can disconnect a connected service at any time.

Your content

"Your content" means what you add to the Service, such as recipes, photos, notes, and messages. You keep ownership of your content. You give Springhouse a license to host, store, process, display, and share your content as needed to run the Service for you and the people you share with, including processing it with our service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content you have shared with others that they have saved, and copies we must keep by law.

You confirm that you have the right to share your content and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the Service illegally or to infringe anyone's rights.
  • Upload malware, spam, or harmful content.
  • Try to access other people's accounts or data.
  • Interfere with the Service or get around its security or limits.
  • Scrape or harvest data from the Service without our written permission.
  • Use the assistant to create content that is unlawful, harmful, or deceptive.

Purchases

If we offer paid features, prices and terms will be shown before you buy, and payments will be handled by a third-party processor or app store.

Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, text, logos, and recipes we provide, is owned by Springhouse or our licensors. Except as these Terms allow, you may not copy, modify, or distribute it.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPRINGHOUSE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT, WILL BE ACCURATE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPRINGHOUSE AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Springhouse and its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

Ending your use

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing hello@springhouse.co. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if needed to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law rules. Except as provided in the arbitration section, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Arbitration and class action waiver

Binding arbitration. Except for small claims and claims for injunctive relief about intellectual property, you and Springhouse agree to resolve disputes through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in Fairfax County, Virginia, or by video, unless we agree otherwise.

Class action waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Springhouse will bring claims only individually, not as a class or representative action.

Opting out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@springhouse.co within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, email address, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email hello@springhouse.co with: the copyrighted work, the material you believe infringes and where it is, your contact information, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and your signature.

Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new Terms.

General

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Springhouse about the Service.
  • We may assign these Terms in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign them without our consent.
  • Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
